Who Am I

Life is an Adventure

I am a retired Information Technology (IT) Manager who spent more than 40 years in the Financial, Utility, and IT consulting for various industries.  I was there at the beginning of the technology boom going from mainframes, to personal computers, networks, the beginning of the consumer internet, cloud base computing and storage, and to where we are today with the evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI).  Boy, what a ride.

I am still involved in Scouting America (formally Boy Scouts of America) after 25 years.  From Cub and Boy Scouts in my younger days, to being a volunteer and leader with my Eagle Scout Son, serving in various district officer positions in helping the scouting movement continue to grow.  Scouting (Girl Scouts and Scouting America) has so much to offer our young girls and boys in so many areas of development.  From critical thinking, outdoor and leadership skills, citizenship to our communities, team building, and experiencing new adventures and life long skills.

Even adults who become involved in scouting learn so many new skills, provide the mentoring needed by so many young people, experience the outdoors, and many camping/hiking adventures they may have never thought of doing.

Today, my wife and I travel by car, motorhome, and either hotel it or car camp in visiting many national parks in the United States.  We have a goal of visiting all 63 national parks.  So far we have visited, hiked, and camped in 34 national parks, visiting interesting places, national monuments, state parks, and whatever we find on the way.  There is so much to see in the United States and it is the best country in the world from my perspective.  Don't get hung up on the politics, public media, and social platforms.  Disconnect and enjoy the moment.
